Richard Baker – Chairman
Richard Baker is Chairman and Co-Founder of PKG Properties. He is an authority on the lifestyle and shopping preferences of affluent consumers, a sought-after speaker and the author of substantial original research on the topic.
Mr. Baker gathers his insights into affluent lifestyle from his firm's exclusive research relationships with over 400 Boards of Directors of non-profit organizations. He is also the Founder of The Luxury Marketing Council Dallas-Fort Worth (a chapter of the International Luxury Marketing Council). In this capacity his members include leading arts and cultural organizations (such as the world-renowned Nasher Sculpture Garden) and merchants (such as Neiman Marcus).
Mr. Baker has been a speaker at Luxury Marketing Councils in New York, San Francisco, Atlanta, Miami and London, U.K. He has been the keynote speaker at The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing, The Luxury Retail Summit, and the Prudential Realty Conference, San Francisco and a featured speaker at the California Luxury Tourism Convention in 2007.
Prior to founding Premium Knowledge Group, Mr. Baker spent 20 years as the CEO of Baker & Company, a management consulting firm which was sold to J.D. Power & Associates.
Mr. Baker graduated as Valedictorian from the University of Dallas with a BA in English.
Robert Mechlin – President and CEO
Robert is President/CEO and Co-Founder of PKG Properties. He is a 30-year veteran of sales and marketing who was in real estate for the first time in 1978. As President of PKG Properties, his number one priority is to bring on new developments and see them through successful launch to final development close out. He is directly involved with the building of the sales team and oversees each project's sales operations to ensure the LifeStyle Sales System is fully integrated into the sales process.
His well rounded talents bring a depth of experience across many industries. Before PKG Properties he was Vice President of Sales for Bloomsbury Properties International a resort sales and marketing company with offices in Miami and London. Prior to that he was a successful entrepreneur and founder of Stellar Villas Inc., a luxury property rental company with a portfolio of unique properties in more than 30 countries worldwide.
He also ran an award-winning Washington, DC advertising agency and owned his own web design/consulting firm. Throughout his sales career Robert has hired, trained and managed literally hundreds of salespeople in several industries.
Robert lives in West Sussex, England with his wife and two children. He is a native of Washington, DC. He holds a BA in Communications from the University of Maryland.
Lisa Kislak – Marketing
Lisa most recently served as Sr. VP of Marketing for ClubCorp, the world leader in delivering premier golf, private club and resort experiences. While there, she created several firsts: a major repositioning of select properties, a club of the future concept, branded co-operative advertising, member trend reports and an integrated web presence for the portfolio.
Prior to ClubCorp, she served as VP of Marketing and Sales for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, where she was responsible for marketing luxury properties in New York, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean.
A few years earlier, Lisa was VP of Brand and Relationship Marketing and an integral part of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts' launch of the leading hospitality industry women’s program and Request loyalty program. Lisa was with Wyndham as it grew from 40 to 100 properties and as it became publicly traded.
Victoria Mechlin – Communications
Victoria is responsible for the management of corporate communications for PKG Properties and its clients, offering public relations, event managements and other creative services.
For two decades Victoria has helped corporations and organizations reach maximum visibility in the marketplace through worldwide public relations, marketing and brand management in Washington, DC, London, England, Los Angeles, CA and Southern Florida. Victoria has managed clients across a diverse spectrum in areas including real estate, hospitality, travel and tourism, government, transportation, consumer products and non-profits.
Clients have included: General Motors Corporation, The Aluminum Association, The Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Inter-Continental Hotels Worldwide, Philip Morris International, Ford Motor Company, AMBEO Airlines, the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, and Gifts In Kind International, amongst others. Victoria has worked in the Washington, D.C. newsrooms of CBS’s Evening News With Dan Rather, ABC’s Newschannel 8, a lifestyles writer for Washington Dossier Magazine and as a lifestyle editor and columnist for Georgetown & Country Newspaper.
She earned a B.A. in Public Communications from American University in Washington, D.C.
Connie Wald – Marketing Services
Connie’s background includes product development, new product introductions, advertising, promotion and merchandising. She has worked for retailers, cosmetic marketers and advertising agencies. Her most recent assignment was Vice President of Marketing for Neiman Marcus.
She began her career at Carson Pirie Scott in Chicago, later holding buyer positions for Robinson’s in Los Angeles and Gimbel’s in New York. While at Avon Products, she served as Sr. Marketing Manager for their make-up brands. Connie then joined Hakudoho Advertising as Vice President. She developed, positioned and promoted high-end skin care brands destined for introduction in Japan.
Two years later, Connie joined the Conair Corporation as head of their in-house ad agency. In this capacity she directed all account and creative functions for Conair, Southwestern Bell Retail and Cuisinart products.
Mark Elawadi – Marketing and Hospitality
Mark Elawadi has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, the United States and the Caribbean. His experience encompasses hotel & resort management, development, and asset management. He also has specific experience in turnaround, implementing operations, sales and financial contingency and crisis management plans as well as financial workouts in complex situations.
Previously, Mark held executive positions – pre-opening, opening and operating – with some of the finest hotel management companies worldwide; his roles have, including Vice President of Conrad Hotels (luxury brand of Hilton), General Manager Marriott Hotels, General Manager of The Cumberland Hotel (London, UK), Chief Operating Officer of Resort Properties Group (Spain) and Vice President of Development of the Renaissance & Ramada for the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and CIS. Mark was selected by George Washington University to conduct an educational hotel senior property management needs assessment study and recommend the asset management course for its continued executive education program.
Mark has been the recipient of numerous industry excellence and service recognition awards, including nomination for Hotelier of the Year in 2002. He has also served on many of the industry association boards, including the Board of Directors of the Charlotte Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Los Angeles Hotel Motel Association, as well as the Board of the Tourism Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce Egypt (as Chairman).
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, and he is an American Hotel & Lodging Association Certified Hotel Administrator. He has also successfully completed executive education and professional development programs at Cornell and George Washington Universities.
Michael Baron – Statistical Modeling
Michael has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate, theoretical and applied statistics courses, including Quality and Process Control, Sampling, Applied Statistical Methods, Decision Theory and Bayesian Analysis, Time Series, Sequential Analysis, Actuarial Mathematics, Statistical Methods in Clinical Trials, Queuing Theory, and Applied Statistics service courses for schools of Business and Management, Computer Science, and Engineering. In this capacity he also supervised four doctoral dissertations.
He has conducted research in the areas of sequential analysis, change-point problems, Bayesian analysis, and applications in semiconductor manufacturing, energy finance, psychology, and epidemiology.
He serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Sequential Analysis. He was tenured in 2001. He has authored over 25 publications. He contributed to over 40 presentations at professional conventions. He has been awarded research grants from the National Science Foundation, National Security Agency, and Semiconductor Technical Council.
Michael received his MS in Mathematics from The University of St. Petersburg, Russia and his Ph.D. of Statistics from The University of Maryland.
Patricia Baker – Sponsorship Development
With over 15 years of national media and sponsorship sales, Pat has worked in New York, Chicago and Dallas with The Interep Companies, Emmis Broadcasting, ABC Radio Networks, and WestwoodOne Radio Networks. She has negotiated national broadcast sponsorships of The NCAA Final Four, NFL Football, The Grammy’s, as well as legendary radio personalities including Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Howard Stern, and Paul Harvey.
Shay Knippa – Marketing Services
Shay has the great ability to manage projects from the big picture to the smallest of details. She is skilled in event planning and managing fundraising projects. She has spent her career in marketing and management in the mortgage and banking Industries.
We have staff available in London, Liverpool, Bahrain, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, who can provide our service offering from the UK to Hong Kong and from Russia to India. Our highly experienced European creative team works closely with our clients to develop and implement every stage of their marketing plans. From initial strategy, through branding and positioning, audience targeting, advertising campaign creation, execution and reprographic production, to the design and production of sales and marketing collateral. For some clients we take campaigns from initial concept through to the appearance of print, TV or online advertising. Others buy specific elements of the service. We have studios in London and Dubai – providing a six day a week, twelve hours a day service to all our clients as standard.
Andrew Jack
Marketing Head
Andrew first established himself in the world of media as Regional Director of CIA with clients such as BT, Hotpoint, Allied Maples, Eastern Electricity, Specsavers and Northcliffe Newspapers. In 1998 Andrew established Osborne Jack Media which became the UK's largest media planning and buying agency specializing in Property. Andrew was later responsible for the formation of Pure Media Group Ltd, a property specialist, which also dealt in financial, consumer and motors with an estimated annual billing of £40m. Andrew now runs multi-million pound Media and Marketing practices offering media planning and buying as well as brand and design work.
Michael West
Marketing
Michael was recently with the Financial Times, where he worked for seven and a half years. His biggest accolade whilst at the FT was the re-launch of House & Home as a separate section in September 2006, a project which he headed up with the Editor for House & Home. In doing so, Michael not only increased the property team’s revenue more than threefold in the three years he headed up the Property team, but he also firmly established the FT’s presence in the global property market. Before leaving, Michael was also responsible for the Arts, Food & Drink, Luxury Guide and Education categories. Previous to the FT, Michael also worked for BBVA Banco Provincial in Caracas, Venezuela, Hilton Group PLC and Bass Hotels and Resorts.
